This window is an excellent example of Fellowes Prynne's design in
collaboration with the stained glass specialist firm of Bacon Brothers. The
throng of holy people, the presence of angels, the lavish use of colour, and the
setting of each light in its own architectural niche are devices seen across his
work.
The illustrations show this window, including detail of the centre light.
Note how Christ's hands appear outside “the frame” - giving the impression to me
that He cannot be confined by any human artifice. |
